Coppers Bistro, Extension
2021 saw us return to Preston Garden Centre after the success of their new Bistro to expand on our previous project, and complete an extension to their bistro. After impressing on our previous visit, Fudstone Developments were asked to be the main contractors on the extension, allowing us to take the reigns from start to finish.
An area was excavated appropriately and founds were dug out and poured to take the steel and blockwork for the new extension. a concrete screed was laid to work off and the project went on. The extension involved pitching three seperate roofs, which all tied together. An equal square pitch in the centre, a shallow one above the new toilet facilities, and a connecting roof which integrated the new and existing building together.
Internal work was extensive once the build was watertight following the roof being slated, and new windows and doors installed. Tiles were laid on the floor throughout on top of an insulating backerboard and in some areas underfloor heating mats. Such as the beauty of the new extension bespoke tiles were laid in different areas which matched the Copper theme of the Bistro as well as matching the garden centres green roots in the toilet facilities.
Oak window boards, skirting and trims were installed which completed internal construction, before being decorated beautifully.
Another courtyard was bricked up and slabbed as part of the extension, which meant this new dog friendly part to the bistro would satisfy all customer needs, as well as the pets which now enjoy the setting and facilities.
